Tap holes in sink - punch or drill?

S

snadge

Ive got to put a 35mm hole in the (steel) sink for the tap, IKEA sell a punch (and pipe cutter which would come in handy) for £10 ... or should I buy a special drill cutting bit? which is best? the only concern I have with the punch is the worry that the rest of the sink around the hole might start warping with the pressure...

can anyone advise on this?

thanks

I needed a single hole in a stainless sink ( 29mm in my case ? ).

I was reluctant to use a bi-metal tubular hole saw but it worked fine and did not take long either.
