Long time dripping kitchen sink tap. Had a look at the washer at the spout but it looks fine.
So removed the tap lids and unscrewed the handles off to reveal the headgear. Problem is they are set into the cover so needed to get box spanners to try and unscrew the headgear nut. Got some box spanners but the nut is so stiff I can't seem to get any give at all. The pressure I was using was budging the whole tap and worried I would only damage it further. What can I do? Douse it in WD40 and try again? Any other ideas to poss keep rest of tap steady and secure while I try the tough nut again? This what it looks like:
