tap positions / regulations

can anyone tell me where it is to be found?
regulation that states hot should be on left and cold on right on a bath or sink? looked through water regs also docs G & M can't find a specific reference to this but i'm sure it does exist

my old lady is badgering me for info as she has council in doing her bathroom and they have put taps on opposite sides on bath and wash basin

i never seen it in writing but it has always been said in the event of power cut or for the blind they know what side the hot/cold is.

but it is common on the bath to put the hot on the otherside so young children can't reach it.

Yes, it's not a regulation - more of a reccommendation.
