Tape and joint in bathroom

We've installed moisture resistant plasterboard in our new bathroom, the architects notes says it should have 2 coat skim finish.

Will it be okay to tape and joint instead?

The walls around the shower will have Whiterock installed and the other walls just painted.

Yeah I guess.
Spec might say plaster but if you apply gardz that will seal board and filler prior to painting
