Hi there,

I notice there are two types of underlay tape, double sided and single sided. I intend to lay my own underlay and wanted to know which tape is best to use, and which surface of the underlay does the tape go (top or bottom)? I.e. floor side (so the double sided sticks to the wooden floorboards).

If any one can advise I'd appreciate it, cheers!

i use 50mm single side gaffer or duct tape (screwfix 14470) applied on top of the underlay. i use 3/4" blue fine cut tacks to hold the underlay at the corners and ends of joints.
