Is it realistic for me to expect to be able to hire a builder or multi skilled tradesperson and and to employ subcontractors such as such as plumber and electrician without the builder adding a margin on to these?

What tradesman is it best to do a traditional screed?

With regards to the plastering is the initial plaster boarding something that the plasterer would be expecting to do or is that something that I myself and the general builder can do between us?

Kitchen - Kitchen fitter, with additional electrician, plumber and wet trade possibly necessary.

Bathroom as above but bathroom orientated, could double as a kitchen fitter.

Plaster/screed, wet trade plasterer/ screeder required.

Some spreads refuse to do tacking these days...I think they are getting a bit precious.

They can be, but in my experience I've waited for certain spreads to become available to get a better quality finish.

I've not done project management before - do I need to hire a specialist project manager to work on my behalf with planning out the length of time different jobs take etc

In general how long does it take a plasterer to skim a 10ft x 10ft room roughly to include ceiling
With a room ready with plasterboard - how many coats of skim should a good plasterer put on each wall?

My plasterer has usually taken 2 days for a room of that size, usually involves tacking the ceiling though on first day though, along with other prep work, then skimming on second day. It's been around £600 for a 3m square room.

Are you employing him as a subcontractor on a building job or are you a private customer so he's averaging roughly a day rate of £300 then
