Hello guys,

A Trainee here with not much site experience.
Putting up normal and temporary lights.
The lights have a flex with a spider box containing the connections in a connector block.
All the emergencies have 4 cores.
Some of the normals have 3 cores and some have 4.
All the lights are to be switched via a 4 core flex.
I just want to know what the connections would be in the spider boxes ???

The colouring of the cables is brown, black, blue and green/yellow.

Live, Emergency Live, Switched Live, Neutral, Earth.

The Emergency Live goes to the emergency light(s) via a key switch for testing, depending on whether you have a test switch for each EL for for a group.

I think there is a contactor then a photocell then lights. I think for emergencies it would be brown to brown, black to black etc.
But what about the 4 core meeting the 3 core normal lights ?

Please get your trainer to arrange for you to be trained ( and educated ) in the principles of electric circuits and installations.

Training tells you what to do, education explains why it is done that way.
