We have a disgusting white terylene type of render all over the house we are renovating. Our builder has suggested that we 'exmet' all over the old render and use a new render onto the exmet mesh. We don't really want to do this because of the cost of the mesh, and because we've totally replastered all internal walls and don't want the vibrations of the nail gun (used to fix the exmet mesh to the external walls) to crack the new plaster on our internal walls. We don't want to try to remove the old render - because in some places it won't come off. Our plasterer reckons he just needs to unibond over the old render (which is coming away from the brickwordk in a very few places) and then slap a new render on. Any other suggestions?
