I have a problem with a Whirlpool 636 fridge-freezer. It just stopped working. Interior light comes on but not the motor. I guess it may be the thermostat so I want to short the connections. Unplugged I accessed the stat and there are Blue, White, Brown, Black and Yellow/Green wires going to the top. Can someone confirm I need to disconnect the Brown and Black wires connect them together, insulate connection and plug in. If motor runs and there is cooling it is worth buying a new stat. Are there any other tests I can do before spending money on this machine?
