Hi All,

I'm upgrading my alarm system from a Scantronic 9448+ to a Texecom Veritas Excel. The Scantronic alarm hasn't worked properly since we moved in the property. The keypad had stopped working so this alarm system was replaced by a Yale Easyfit Wireless alarm. But I wanted to get back to a wired alarm system (more reliable).

My existing wiring is already there from my previous alarm system (all wiring to PIR's etc) but I read in the manual for the bellbox that it needs 8 core cable. I've only got 6 core installed for the previous alarm box. All alarm cables already exist but are all 6 core cables.

Will I need to run 8 core cable so I can install this new bellbox?

Regards,

Brett

Re-Read the manual for the bell box and read the part where it says * Not applicable to Odyssey X-E & X-BE which applies to the fault relay, Tamper relay and test on the bell box.

Goes to show, read instructions properly and thoroughly, LOL. Thanks again for your help secureiam.
