Hi All,

This is my first time setting up an alarm system and I've been having a few issues along the way, most of which I have solved with perseverance and luck :). However I'm stuck with this issue.

I have the Texecom Premier Elite 24-w kit with a Premier Elite Odyssey 5-W sounder. Using Ricochet Monitor & Wintex to setup mostly.

1. When I perform a bell test the alarm sounds
2. When the alarm is triggered the internal alarm sounds but the external sounder does not.
3. Global options have "Bells on confirmed alarm" as not ticked.
4. Areas/Options have "Bell & Strobe output" as AB

I have two Areas, A & B, the sounder/zone is a member of both areas. Is this the problem? can the sounder be a member of both areas and still work if only 1 zone from 1 area is triggered, or do I need a sounder for each area, or is there another reason that I've missed?

Edit* Just noticed that in Ricochet Monitor the properties for the sounder have "Bell Disabled". I've had a good look around but I cannot see anywhere to enable the bell?

Any help is appreciated

Cheers

Dylan

The bell sounds for the ateas its assigned to.

zones should only be in a single area.

to be fair dont do many texecom wireless bells, those i have done worked syraight away.

Delete the bell and relearn on, if it persists i would be refering back to the manuals or contacting Texecom.

Deleting the device off the system and relearning should put it back to default values go into the zone and check its setup correctly.

Hi Dylan,

did you found what was the problem? I am having the same issue.. alarm goess off but the sound only comes from keypad.. no sound from exteral sounders :(

thanks

which zones were activated?

what does it say in the event log?

there are several reasons why the internal sounder only may be activated, if you do a bell test does the external bell activate?

Hi Secureiam,

Yes, the both external sounders sound when I do the bell test (I have one wireless and 1 wired). All zones are part of Area A ( total 5 zones)

Zone 09 - XP01 D01 - Guard Area A - Hybrid
Zone 10 - XP01 D02 - Guard Area A - Hybrid
Zone 11 - XP01 D03 - Guard Area A - Hybrid
Zone 12 - XP01 D04 - Entry/Exit 1 Area A - Hybrid
Zone 13 - XP01 D05 - Guard Area A - Hybrid

the bells are working correctly.

so now it would be down to what zones were activated and in what order to establish what should happen, and then how the system is programed.

in the event log you will see system armed, zone x activated, eventually you should see bell active bell sounds.

so if you trigger a guard zone and your system isn't programed for bell on confirmed, then the external bell rings, if it was programed for bells on confirmed another guard zone would have to be activated.

If the entry exit zone is triggered first then it behaves differently again from mempry it will depend on the timers programed to how it behaves and Texecom may be able to provide you with the scnarios and time scales of what should happen.

Ok Secureiam,

Thank your very much for the information. I have contacted the Texecom support team and they need the wintel profile to check. I will let you know once the issue is resolved.

Thanks again
