I dropped my keyboard, and when untangling the cables lifted up my screen. When I put it down I realised it had gone black and I had ny thumb on one (or more) of the buttons that you use to set up the screen.
I am typing this using my old CRT screen.
It displays POST and the first Windows XP flash, then flickers and goes off.
it is not quite as dark as when
i unplug the signal cable.
It is not displaying "no signal" or "out of range".
The Radeon 7500 AGP video card seems OK since when I plug the CRT screen in it works.
The TFT screen works until Windows plays its silly jingle.
I see nothing when I press the buttons on the front of the screen.
It is an Exair if that helps.
Any ideas?
p.s. the display works in Safe Mode but the background is then black. when in Safe I got the screen to auto-adjust itself and I noticed the Phase setting went up a lot.
p.p.s. I tried System Restore to yesterday and the day before, they failed. A| message saying "application failed" flashed up too fast for me to read during restart, and when the system restarted, System Restore said it had been unable to restore.
