This forum and the people who provide help have saved me from employing someone who wasn't as experienced as had been anticipated! It was a disaster but it was a managed disaster and I lost a relatively lower amount of money (Less than £1k) than I easily could have done had I not been able to ask the questions that I did ask - Far worse if I had to then undo some bad work
 
That's good to hear!

Not good that you lost money, but that you were able to back out before things got far worse.
