It's going to take a full term in office for Labour to get to grips with the wreckage left behind by successive Tory governments. Even then the damage done is irreparable and subsequent administrations will have to deal with the fallout from years of austerity and incompetence. If you think Farage's lot will sort it all out - not just the issue of illegal migration - then good luck with that.

If the £££ in this article is anywhere near accurate, the cost involved in housing these people is, emmm, on the significant side!

It links to another point I sometimes make. Government want to put our taxes up, however how much of the existing tax take is wasted? It seems to me a not insignificant part of the requirement to raise more tax is to plug gaps caused by government inefficiency and waste.
