The Bell hotel. Looks like it’s set a precedent.

It could be argued those above us on the table are taking too many.

The EU/UK needs a joined up strategy on this. And by that I don't mean deciding how to divvy up all those coming in, I mean a strategy on how to stop them coming and/or sending them back unless they meet a strict, non wokey, set of criteria.

EU/UK leaders should be demanding a sit down with the leaders of the countries these people are leaving from to essentially ask 'what the feck are you doing about this???'

The EU have been doing this for years. There is the 2016 EU Turkey deal which slashed the numbers of asylum seekers making the short crossing from Turkey to the Greek islands. Italy has a more recent deal with the North African countries. Numbers entering the EU have halved over the past two years. Both the EU and UK are also trying to make sensible deals to process asylum seekers off shore and for safe third countries to accept those refused asylum who can't be returned to their home country. Not just a 400 person stunt like the failed Rwanda plan. An enormous amount is going on all the time.

I mean a round table with everyone in attendance.

Right you lot, what the feck are you doing about your citizens fleeing your countries to ours? And if the west is so sh1te, why are they choosing our countries, eh? EH?!?

They're an island, just like us. Just proves it CAN be done.

Australia have agreements with the countries the boats leave from to return them. Unless we can persuade France to do the same, then we are stuffed.

You see this is why people do not trust you "oh I have not been following it" "I haven’t seen that" "not been looking at the news recently" --- And so on. And all of a sudden you have an in depth knowledge of a subject.
