The Epstein Files is a quandry the GoP cannot dismiss as a hoax - or is Donald now convinced they aren't a hoax after all as he's happy for them to be released.
it's hard to tell.
He may change his mind once the full truth comes out.

all this is just a stall till the midterms... if the democrats can keep pushing the narrative that the republicans are hiding something then they become weak, if the republicans can stall and stall then they can keep saying its nothing to do with donny.

It's no use Trump changing tack and saying he'll allow the vote to go ahead - when it would do so anyway since he doesn't have the numbers to block it. And he could release the files tonight - if he chose to do so. It doesn't take an Act of Congress or Senate approval.

He has the numbers to stop it in the Senate, but it’s about redaction as much as release, so whatever documents are released in whatever form, he can say not my decision whilst pulling strings behind the scenes. But, as said, that suggests he has long term strategic policy skills.

It might prejudice criminal proceedings but Trumpf gave a running commentary on his own trial, attacked the judge, the prosecution, and still got a “fair” trial, it seems anything goes in the States.
