thermo mixer shower

due to my cylinder cupboard being small i cannot fit a twin ended pump
at the base of the cylinder but i can fit a single pump in, can i pump hot water to the shower and take a feed off the mains cold to the mixer valve?

Well you'd get wet but it doesn't work really well. If you add a pressure equalising valve it's better.
