Thermostat - Immersion Heater problem

The thermostat in my immersion heater failed last week, it wasn't heating up. I replaced it, all was good. But today the new 1 has failed - why is this? It is a top entry immersion heater, 3 kw. The thermostat was the same size as the old one. It was bought from B & Q and had the overheat thermostat build in but just failed, again not allowing the water to heat up.

I am going to buy another one but wondered why this went so soon?

Parts are likely to fail when they are new.
Otherwise if nothing else is wrong the only option is to replace it
again.

You were unlucky, some may last 30 years.
There isn't any reason UNLESS the element shorts out, that could blow the t/stat
