Home improvement isn't my forte, but I'm trying to learn stuff, figured I could get better explanations from here than most other places!
I've got a Halstead 'Ace High' boiler in my loft, which has three settings - off, on and timer. The clicky dial timer is inconveniently located on the front of the boiler and only has 24 hours, so isn't much use for a weekend... In my hallway I have a dial thermostat, which looks quite old but functions.
So, I'm looking to replace the thermostat for a more clever one, thus thinking that I leave the boiler permanently in the '1' position and having all the control in my hallway?
I found this (manual at the bottom) on initial looking, seems to do the kind of thing I want, but specifies 3 wires required.
So, I suppose I'm asking, are these the right three wires existing behind my current thermostat? I can't seem to see an earth?
For reference,
here is the manual for my boiler (uploaded to Google Docs as the Halstead site seems to be down...)
