Thermostatic mixer valve on mixer shower.

Is it possible to fit a thermostatic mixer valve (Bossmix TMV3) to a non thermostatic mixer shower on a combi? I would have thought it not, as the hot and cold would be getting mixed at the TMV3 and then again at the shower, meaning that the water would never get up to 50 degrees unless the shower temp control was all the way over to the hot, meaning only the mixed hot would be getting to the shower, resulting in poor flow.

Any ideas?
