Hi At the moment my thermostatic shower bar has the flow on the right hand side. this has been fine for 4 years. However I now need a new one and find they are all the opposite way around. Help please.

The normal orientation would be on/off on the left, temp on the right, hot flow in on the left, cold flow in on the right. If you're it the opposite way around then does the hose connect onto the top or the bottom?

There is a hose from the bottom for the small shower. I will send a pic. Thanks

OK, if the flow valve is on the right then that's very unusual. The only way really to explain why it might be the opposite way around to the norm would be to flip it but that wouldn't normally be practical.

When next in the shower find out which supply pipe at the back gets hot, if it's the left one then a 'normal' bar valve can be fitted, if not then it may be difficult to find a valve that works the opposite way around and worst case the pipework may need swapped.

Cheers Madrab I thought that might be right.
The strange thing is when I had it fitted about 4 years ago the water would not get hot and the guy came back and went under the floor and changed the pipes around I think. ??

But now the water is just tepid and I thought I needed a new shower but find they are all the other way around.
Thanks again for your help

Is it tepid even when you turn the thermostatic valve past the temp lock (push in button on the tempo control)

Do you turn the valves towards you to turn on/turn the heat up or away from you? Again though see what pipe goes hot at the back of the bar when it's on.

Yes it is still tepid . To turn up the heat I turn it away from me.

Have just tried it and the left hand pipe is hot

Hot pipe on the left is the essential thing.

Sometimes they are plumbed the wrong way round, and a thermostatic mixer will then not work.
