We have a problem with our shower suddenly switching off. It is a thermostatic tap arrangement, replacement for a similar item which ran successfully for many years. Before I remove it and take it back to the shop, I would like to exhaust all the possible checks.
Installed, by me, 3 months ago it ran successfully until 2 weeks ago when it stopped mid-shower. It has repeated this intermitently since and now often will not run at all. Sometimes it will run at a greatly reduced force. The hot and cold water to the sink, which are in the same run, suffer no problem.
The water is fed from a Combi Boiler.
Any help would be most welcome.

Trevi thermostatic valves (and, I expect, some others) have a safety feature that shuts off the hot supply if it's too hot.

What's the make/model of your valve?
