As part of a local council grant that has been awarded for the construction of a disabled bathroom, it stipulates that an anti scald electric shower must be installed set a maximum of 43 degrees.

I would rather not have an electric shower but a thermostatic one fed by a system boiler or combi. is it possible to set the max temperature on a regular thermostatic shower valve say by Vado or the like?

You won't find a traditional mixer I don't think, but the Aqualisa Visage and Quartz digital showers both carry BEAB approval and can be temperature limited within their control box. If you're looking to vary from the specification, you need to understand exactly what is required. For example, is a TMV3 shower required or is TMV2 approval sufficient?

A TMV is a Thermostatic Mixing Valve. There are two different safety standards for TMVs in the UK, these being TMV2 and TMV3 (TMV3 being the more stringent). You need to know which standard your shower is required to conform to by the specifiers before you can choose an alternative to the one they've suggested
