They Shoot Horses, don't they?

No

1 is allowing somebody freedom to stop them , or their close family, suffering.

1 is punishment. Too often it's been proven, too late, that it was wrong. And often allows a certain type, their martyrdom.

Quite a noticeable difference
Blurred lines.

I don't see any blurring.

Looks totally different things to me

I agree. It sounds like a massive straw man to me.

It should be obvious to anyone that these are totally different. You can't compare somebody who wants to die because they are in terrible suffering with somebody who is being killed against their will as a punishment. Isn't that just common sense?

irrelevant if you take the drugs yourself, which is all that is being made legal.

At present someone can make a last will and testament saying that they wish all their worldly goods go to an imaginary friend's 'organisation'...

And no-one bats an eyelid...

So what is the problem with someone with a terminal illness expressing their dying wishes as regards how they go?

It really is as simple as that!

How much will it cost the person who is asking the State for permission to kill them or is it free on the NHS?

That's an interesting question! My guess is that it would be free.

In Canada, they have widened the bandwidth of MAID to include mentally ill/distressed people. It's not how the bill began. I don't believe this bill is about helping people, not really, I think it is about making money for Big Pharma and knocking off as many people as possible who are seen as a burden on resources.
