There, a 3 way switch is one that has 3 terms, a 4 way switch has 4 terms...!!

Actually, it was mentioned in a book I have that, a simple circuit often unthoughtof by electronic engineers, but in common use by electricians is the incredibly simple 'three way switch'. On the diagram labelled 'The Electrician's Three-way switch', it shows what we would call a two-way switch.
