We do not know the full details of the incident. A white flag from terrorists is often abused by them using it to get closer to their enemy before either blowing themselves up or pulling out a grenade or a gun. Circumstances dictate if they were to get the white flag treatment or other treatment. This piece of journalism doesn't make it clear.

The mother of one of the deceased hostages sent a message to the unit involved in the shooting, stating she considered the incident not to be the soldiers' fault. She told the unit she instead placed the blame of her son's death on Hamas, adding: "may their name and memory be wiped off the face of the Earth"

Oops yes, clearly it was a mistake. The IDF thought they were slaughtering surrendering Palestinians. The mistake by the hostages was thinking they were ok waving a white flag, pleading with their arms aloft. They certainly wont make that mistake again.

They aren't shooting innocent Palestinians, they are going after hamas terrorists, these hostages were shot as such by mistake, it happens in wars, friendly fire is fairly common.

Whilst desperately searching for Israeli hostages, the IDF came upon an unarmed impoverished group surrendering and speaking Hebrew. So they shot them. It must have been such a relief knowing you have been found. :rolleyes:

Gaza war: UN experts accuse Israel of 'genocidal acts' and sexual violence

Israel strongly rejects the findings of the report and accuses the UN Human Rights council of antisemitism.

In a statement, external, Israel's mission to the UN in Geneva said the report was "a shameless attempt to incriminate the [Israel Defense Forces] and manufacture the illusion of 'systemic' use of [sexual and gender-based violence]".

It criticised what it called the commission's decision to use "information from second-hand single uncorroborated sources", which it said was inconsistent with established UN standards and methodologies.

The statement also stressed that the IDF had "concrete directives, procedures, orders, and policies, which unequivocally prohibit such misconduct", as well as mechanisms to investigate any incidents of alleged sexual violence.

Israel's prime minister also rejected the report's findings and called the Human Rights Council an "anti-Israel circus".

"Instead of focusing on the crimes against humanity and the war crimes that were perpetrated by the Hamas terrorist organisation in the worst massacre carried out against the Jewish people since the Holocaust, the UN has again chosen to attack the State of Israel with false accusations, including baseless accusations of sexual violence," Netanyahu said.
 
The IDF have now found and bumped off the last Hamas animal that that was one of the mob that gang raped / tortured and killed Shari Louk on October 7th they paraded her battered / bloody corpse through Gaza as a trophy whilst the civilian population cheered and spat on her corpse
She was a 23 German national (?) visiting Isreal for the pop concert
