Hi guys,

I will be doing a first install bath soon and wondering why this reducer is in place to the main waste stack in our upstairs bathroom?

The house is 1957 build and probably originally had a bath. When we moved in there was a shower in this location which had inlet and waste pumps. Pumps were knackered. I can't remember if anything was attached to this reducer when I pulled the shower out.

Also what pipework is needed to connect to this (main stack) from the bath's P trap?

Bath I'll be installing is below,

Thanks

Looks as if the outlet pipe from the old removed pump connected there. Should be safe to remove it as long as there isnt a one way valve inside it.
