Full of courage until he's asked about what he hoped voting leave would achieve
I used to read the Telegraph every day and I believed the lies they told about EU regulations….basically I fell for the bendy banana trope

I knew nothing about how the single market worked, so had no idea about the benefits of frictionless trade.

Lirefighter still believes in the vote leave lies

Lirefighter is too cowardly to admit he was wrong

You've been on quite a journey! Many are probably the same, but won't admit it.

because we would be able to reduce red tape
That’s going well then :ROFLMAO:

U.K. govt had to increase civil service by 100,000 after Brexit to deal with…….red tape.

Brexit red tape:

Rules of origin checks
Sanitary and phytosanitary controls
ATA carnets
Transit documents
Customs declarations

I literally knew nothing about it, I just voted Conservative, read the Telegraph and never gave it much thought.

A bit stupid considering at the time I was regularly importing timber, ironmongery and machinery from EU countries, I also used to travel with my dog to Brittany for holidays.

I can tell the light bulb moment: I believed in the idea of U.K. being able to make its own trade deals, but somebody (on this forum actually) pointed out that an independent U.K. would only be an economy of £2.8 trillion and wouldn’t have the leverage to negotiate strong deals, especially against our biggest trade partners outside Europe: USA and China.

I should’ve listened to my Dad: he said he grew up through WW2 and he voted remain simply because he said it ensured peace in Europe…….which I think is true because the 8 Eastern blok nations that joined the EU would’ve been ripe for invading by Putin had they remained independent like Ukraine

Had Ukraine joined the EU, Putin would never have invaded.

Now inventing himself as a big business man.
Comedy Gold .
Regularly importing is that a storeman's job ? .
I used to import engineered timber from Germany, monthly orders around £10k each time, which is like 3no packs of timber. They used to send them on an 18m artic which was a bit of a struggle to turn around on the estate I was on.

Amazingly the rep used to come and visit sometimes, a guy called Michael who spoke perfect English.

The company is Adolf Munchinger.

I also used to buy multipoint door locks and other ironmongery from a company in Italy

And I’ve bought woodworking machinery from Europe, machine-seeker has a big presence in Europe and haulage was surprisingly cheap, like €200 for a 1000kg machine.

Pointless, you can pick those up from screwfix the same day
Those are for uPVC and retail prices.

I was buying boxed sets at a 1/3 of retail price.

By the way, when you have spent £2,000 for tooling you need a specific lock to suit.
