Thread type on central heating element.

Hi, does any know the thread type, minor diameter and pitch of the thread on the heating elements that screw into a central heating cylinder?
I need to make a email fitting for one to screw into.

Is it 2.25" BSP ?
I've just found some cheap flanges on eBay that would save a lot of time if they are the correct thread!

2.25" is the norm.

Yes. It used to be common practice to "Wipe" one of those onto a cylinder.

That link you posted has a female thread if you want a male thread, they are readily available, as blanking plugs, from plumbers merchants
