Hi, I'm attempting to add a switch to where there wasn't one previously.

I've got the Hall light working, but can't work out how to attach the outside lights to the second switch.

I hope my picture shows where I am at clearly enough.

The wires from the outside lights were set to just be on permanently and that's what we're trying to resolve by adding a switch.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!

Split the two reds in the connector block and install one wire in to com and one in to L1 on the switch. The black wires do not connect to the switch.

Use the connector you've removed from the red wires to replace that old screw on ceramic connector on the end of the black wires.

Make sure you turn power off at the main switch before you start work as the hall and outside lights may be fed from two different circuits.
