I am laying slate tiles into my kitchen but I'm intending on stripping back the floorboards in the hallway - by the time I've fixed an 18mm ply subfloor, schuter-ditra matting and the tiles I'm going to have a threshold difference of 35-40mm! I was intending to put down a schuter reno-u reducer but these only go up to 20mm as far as I can see.

Short of taking up the floorboards can anyone recommend a solution?

Thanks in adavnce

Thats a big step, there was a post on here a few weeks ago suggesting a piece of timber as a thresh hold packed up at one side and tapering down on the other like a mini ramp.Still leaves a trip hazard though.
