My kitchen area around the sink is mostly painted. However i am changing the units soon and i want to tile the whole wall in basic white tiles (b and q stuff).

Do i need to do anything with the walls in order to get them ready for new tiles or do i just go ahead with the adhesive and tile ?

I am not going to change the PB for cement board by the way.
