I have a small conservatory with a tiled floor about 8ft square and extending out over a paved patio.
The tiled floor is only about 5 inches above the patio and when it rains hard, water appears in the grouting between the tiles. Not surprising, since the house is old and built on a slope with the conservatory on the downhill side.
I don’t want to rip up the floor so would it be sufficient to coat the existing tiles with something like ‘Synthapruf’ and then re-tile with waterproof cement and waterproof grout, or will I still have problems? I could arrange the new tiles so that the existing grout lines could be mostly covered.
