Hi guys, after some advice on a tiling question; a kitchen one in this instance.

We are having new worktops and seperate (matching) upstands installed around the walls.

Should you tile above the upstand or should you tile the wall (down to the worktop) and then put the upstand in place? ie behind the upstand :?:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Lee

Fit the upstand first & tile over that; easier to get a decent & more hygienic seal between the upstand & the tiles.

Not sure about the look of pre-formed upstands over worktops these days, think they can look a bit old fashioned; but it’s personal choice obviously.
