Hi all, as you can see I'm new to the forum.
I am about to install a woodburning stove into our front room. The wife has decided on the look of the fireplace she wants me to achieve and set me to task...

Anyway my questions are as follows.....
Is there any special prep work I need to undertake to tile the wall with the natural slate riven face mosaics??
Do I need to use a special adhesive?? (which one??)

My wall makeup is external brick, cavity, internal 7nm block, cement based render, gypsum multi finish skim.
The property is around 30 years old and all the render and skim is still sound.

Many thanks in advance to anyone who replys.
