Tilling over different floors (membrane/cement boards)

I need to tile over a concrete floor on ground level (Utility & WC) and a first-floor timber floorboard floor (bathroom).

I was planning to stick some Schluter DITRA 25 Uncoupling Membrane down which I can fit directly on the concrete floor.

Do I need to put cement boards on the bathroom floorboards before the uncoupling membrane or can I put the membrane down without the cement boards?

Do you mean timber floorboards?

If so, then no I wouldn't.

Put down 18mm plywood and loads of screws.

How do you deal with the height difference between rooms when you do this?
