Timber purlin plasterboard fire resistance

Hi,
I have a lean to roof, where I want to remove a supporting wall. formally outside toilet, coal shed)

I am installing a Purlin to support the rafters.

The building inspector wants 2x layers of plasterboard for fire protection, what do I use for fixings? Will plasterboard dhesive be ok, or nails? What length/head?
