Hi
We have had a new roof built but had to let our contractors go. They have completed the timber frame but not the collars. We have realised that the rafters on either side of the ridge are not aligned due to three dorma and so collars will not sit against opposite rafters. What is the accepted practise in this situation? Do we have to move/add rafters to allow collars to be added? Nothing in our architects plans or Structural engineer calculations regarding collars but installing to get ceiling height. Any advice would be appreciated.
