Is that bs or what? I was looking at getting a stud finder and some of them list wood/metal etc. Do they work.. uses ultrasound or what and if so any good?

Have the bosch one and works very well.
Also a metal detector to find nails.
GMS 120.

I normally just use the magnet off my laser for metal stud but not having to drill loads of pilot holes to find timber studs made the buy worth it for me and have picked up a Bosch one. Got a load of stuff to fix in an old victorian lath/plaster wall flat and you can't really tell where they are by tapping.

If i'd seen that first i probably would have bought it. In the end i found the Bosch game me sketchy readings though it was double lined so maybe too deep and i just went with the zip plugs which are brilliant.
