I recently dug out some tree roots in an area of my garden that I wish to place a summerhouse in.

After I dug out a sizeable hole, I filled the area with soil and left my hose on it for 24hrs to waterlog the area and allow the soil to find a level.

Question - how long should I allow the soil to settle before placing a concrete base on it? Also, how deep should I allow a concrete base to be (for a summerhouse)?

Thanks in advance for info

Dug over soil will remain soft for years if you dont compact it in layers..
Better off digging all the soft out again and filling with hardcore then compact it down..

All kinda depends how long you want the summerhouse to be there..
