Hi
This may sound like a silly question, but can anyone tell me what is the difference between a timer and programer?
My timer isn't working and when l went to purchase a new one l wasn't sure if should buy a timer or programmer because they both have similar descriptions.
My boiler is a Ravenheat rsf 10/25 combi boiler.
Thanks

programmer costs more because it sounds like it should.

a timer goes on /off

a programmer lets you choose which goes on /off

Timer = one channel, just on and off.

Programmer = two or more channels, usually plus extra features. For example, interlocking of CH with hot water for (an old) gravity hot water system, provision of a 'hot water off' connection for use with 3-port valves.

Programmable thermostat = different animal entirely! Different temperature setting according to time-of-day, maybe day-of-week, single channel.
