Hi,

I have a Thorn Apollo 15/30 with the old type of programmer, the spinning dial with pins and now no longer works, we just control the HW & CH with the thermostat and manually now.

Can an electronic programmer be fitted and which would be best for simple operation? can anyone point in the way of a example?

Thanks in advance

Any normal/common programmer will do, but you have to look at the wiring diagram of the boiler to see where to connect it.
All diags are at partsarena.com/baxi

eg page 9 at
http://www.partsarena.net/gas/catal...x/DS1/installation/2093/I01-2093/I01-2093.htm

New one will have to go externally on multicore cable (or 2!), leave the old one in place to fill the hole.

I've got one of them timers if you can't get one and want one.

Do you mean a original one as I'd rather have it replaced with the original item even if it is a bit antiquated?

If so what are our T&Cs :D

allthough the HW wouldn't be able to be controlled
Bit fundamental, innit?

You could use a simple programmer AND one of those...

Have to tried to get an original timer?

Where from? most trades counters don't stock anything but thermocouples for the boiler

I might have one kicking about. As I recall they are expensive

I too have the same problem with my Myson Apollo Boiler where the clock has stopped working.. When it was working normally ,and the heating turned off, the fan would start up and run for around 30 seconds every 20 minutes or so , which I am told is normal.. I am guessing that this action is to scavenge the gases produced by the pilot
L light flame .. So my question is , can I assume that these gases will just escape through the fan housing and into the flue..,and if not is it possible for some of the gases to escape via the casing into the house?
