Me gas boiler as packed up waiting for a new one,so i have to use the imersion for hot water rather than leaving it on all the time and forgetting to turn it on or off is there a timer i can fit to control when it comes on.
Only got the one element and have not got economy seven. The immersion has got a thermostat just a little concerned that with being at work all day the thermostat could stick and fill the house with hot water and steam. If i got the above timer does it come under part p to have it wired in?
Or cause a fire, who knows, I can see you want to err on the side of caution - good on you.
The timer that I linked for you will be suitable (I doubt your immersion element is over 16A)
More sophisticated ones are available, but I get the feeling your just after cheap and cheerfull to get you through till your boiler gets fixed/replaced.

you might find the digital timers a bit fiddly to set, in which case you can get one with a round "clock face" and settable tappets, which is very intuitive, for about the same price.
