Hi

The problem is, we've got a combination bath/shower mixer, but the lever that switches between the two keeps furring up.

We've tried the usual household products (Limelite), and even brake fluid, none of which have really shifted it. Have you got any sure-fire recommendations for dissolving the stuff and/or keeping it off?

thanks.

On how clean is your home they soak kitchen roll in white vinegar and wrap it around the offending item and leave it overnight - I tried it on a couple of taps that I'd been trying to clean for ages and it does work!! - Bathroom smells like a chip shop for a few days after though !! :(

Harpic removes limescale better than any other domestic product. Works on Taps, Shower Heads, Sinks, Basins, Toilets, Tiles, Plastic, ceramic but NEVER on a bath - it eats the enamel. Don't leave it on stainless steel for too long - it will leave a mark.
