Hello All,

The roof is almost on my extension.
My father in law has a 10l/day de-humidifier he can lend me.
Some people say its good to use one, some people say no way, it will crack the walls.
Whats the opinion on this Forum? with respect to running one and the various stages of pre-plastering and post plastering/screeding...
My particular project will take at least 4-5 months to get to screeding as we are saving up to pay for each part as we go.

Perhaps the best solution would be to run it for a few hours a day?

your thoughts :?:

Best to let it dry on it own with plenty of ventilation.

The de-humidifier pump back warm air moisture back into the room again so really need vented out again.

agree with masona, mixing or replacing the moist internal air with the dry external air is the best way to go.

Unless you can seal the room, using a dehumidifier is as useful as standing under a waterfall with a mop and bucket.

You will only get 10l/day if the RH is 90%+, AND the temperature is 70 deg F+. It's a specmanship game.
