To saw or to plane

Hi, i have a 6 panel colinial door and i need to take 7 mill from door side and bottom , i have a electric plane . Would i be better sawing the access or using the plane . Thanks

Take 3 1/2 mill from top, bottom and both sides with plane...

Thanks for the reply, its actualy 15mill all togethere 7mill bottom 7mill side.
