Toilet Flush mechanism leaking

This has got to the point of annoyance now. Use to cause the toilet to spontaneously refill once every week or so.

Now, 2-3 times an hour.

The pics show the inside (cleaned the crud out now) of the cistern.

Can anyone tell me where to find instructions on how to remove the flush mechanism to hopefully clean out the crud from those stupid drop in cleaners (see goop in bottom left) that have probably got caught under the flapper.

Hi.

Turn water off.

Try holding flush mechanism quite low down with one hand, and see if the upper part will turn 1/4 turn anticlockwise.
