My old flush valve had to be replaced a couple of months ago (was ancient and started leaking).

What I have now is this Fluidmaster http://www.screwfix.com/p/fluidmaster-push-button-cable-dual-flush-valve/51173 the problem is, although the flush seems vigorous with swirling and plenty of water going through and all looks as it should be, it doesn't totally flush everything away and there are 'bits' left which settle at the bottom of the pan. Sorry for that.

The old valve flushed well. The current one has a decent reputation I think and I have tried adjusting the cistern level/flush adjustments but no success. There hasn't really been any other changes made.

Any ideas?

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it.
Flapper valves are the way forward. Forget syphons and flush valves.

I'm a big lad and can eat for England.
My Fluidmaster flapper, like me, never leaves 'left-overs'. :)
