I've been told that I need a pressure reducing valve on my shower - what is it and can anyone fit it. I have mixer shower supplied by a combi boiler. The mixer control goes from cold to hot and you have to turn it fully hot to get the shower warm. This means that the pressure is full on and nearly blasts you out of the shower cubicle and uses tons of water (we're on a meter). Any advice?

Google, and yes.
Try a head designed for an electric shower to reduce the flow, they have smaller holes.
