Installing lead around a chimney is a skilled job and would require some practice, before you attempted it proper.
Tools would be
Lead/tin snipps - for cuttung the lead
Stanley knife - can be used for cutting lead also
Lead dresser - timber or plastic for flatening the lead
Lead boss - a curved smooth wooden or plastic dresser for stretching the lead - the skilled bit lol
You can cut and weld the lead also but needs a lot of practice.

It would take a lot of writting to explain how to dress a stack with lead - i would suggest you get a book.
